I'm now also unable to run shell2vst once after the upgrade - it just crashes.

So even though your other Waves plugs are working and youre on Sonar x1 32 - you may want to ensure you have the latest video drivers & check what. I tried getting GTR3 to work on Sonar x1 64 on Win 7 64 for a long time without luck, but various threads indicated some Waves plugs are very sensitive to video driver issues & video settings.
